Like you I am single - a single parent - and when newly single - it seems hard to start all over again - so after some years of discovery - I thought there was a need to know how much is out there for singles and single parents - to make it easier for the next person. Hi I'm Ross, a fellow single - yes single parent with two gorgeous young boys, my best mates - we have a great time together and go to some single parent family activities organised by Parents Without Partners and Single with Children, we might meet you at one of them some time. I have been on the committees for both of these groups and have had a great time hosting singles house parties for both groups. I can recommend that you join a singles &/or single parent association. You should become involved, either host functions or help with some voluntary work, you will meet more people, even get to know other people in your area in similar situations to yourself and make some wonderful new friends - some friends for life.
Professionally, I have both teaching and nursing qualifications. Undergrad-teaching with post-grads in adult education, vocational education, education administration, curriculum studies, organisational & community development, public relations and marketing. Nursing qualifications in disability, mental health and nursing administration with extensive experience in social reform in the disability sector. Adult education training in web development and publishing. Former senior manager in community health, child & social welfare, funding & licensing, policy analyst & ministerial briefings, staff development and university senior lecturer. Commercial experience as national marketing director, executive producer/promoter of music concert events, senior consultant for education, policy and community management, general manager industry advisory body, chief executive officer national professional association and professional publishing with print & electronic publishing. Awarded 'Best Practice in Adult & Vocational Education', 'Leadership Awards' for youth leadership, 'Community Achievement' awards for community services, 'Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal' for contribution to the arts, International Who's Who listings and Olympic Torch Bearer 2004. Life's been interesting - better than expected.
Yes, I could develop a web site for you - yes, as a single parent, to work around the commitment with kids, I do freelance work, in publishing & publications, education and training consulting. I am usually booked out a month ahead at least - but maybe able to schedule you in - email me with your proposal. (Still unattached but too shy or laid back to do much about it).
