In medical emergencies with children get to the Accident & Emergency Department of your closest local public hospital. If a child is experiencing an elevated body temperature and may have some aches and pains it is an indicator that professional health services should be accessed. All NSW Area Health Services have Child Health programs and children’s wards for in-patient medical services. Your local Paediatrician should be considered for ongoing medical support, as well as your local Early Childhood Nursing Service. Your local doctor can provide information about children’s immunisation needs and programs. Immunisation can prevent serious illness and long-term disablement. School Counsellors could also be considered for support for emotional and schooling issues. Some of the agencies listed do not provide a direct children’s service but can provide contact information of a member organisation in your local area. (NOTE: The Directory may not include all local services and recently established services. )
