Australian National Training Authority (ANTA)

ANTA was a Commonwealth Statutory Authority responsible for the development of a national vocational education and training system in cooperation with States and Territory Governments, the Commonwealth Government and industry. On Friday 22nd October, the Prime Minister announced that, from
1 July 2005, the responsibilities and functions of the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA) would be transferred to the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). This site offers a central point of information on the transfer of ANTA business.

The Group Training National Register

The Group Training National Register lists all Group Training Organisations (GTOs) which have complied with national standards set by vocational education and training Ministers and are eligible to use the Group Training National logo. All GTOs listed on this National Register have been recognised as compliant against the National Standards for GTO’s, by State and Territory Training Authorities.

National Training Information Service (NTIS)

Over 1,000 resources. NTIS presently holds detailed information on accredited courses/qualifications, endorsed competency standards and training organisations. In addition some further information is provided on Training Packages, new VET initiatives and useful links to other training related websites in
Australia. Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET)

ACPET is a body which represents the Australian private education and training sector in dealings with federal and state governments and other agencies. It was founded in 1992 and has over 250 member organisations. The site includes a noticeboard, newsletter and an area specifically for members.

Australian Council of Independent Vocational Colleges

The Australian Council of Independent Vocational Colleges Limited (ACIVC) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1976 to cater for the specific needs of private Education and Training Colleges and organisations associated with international and domestic Education and Training. ACIVC promotes consultation and co-operation between member colleges, acts as a liaison with government departments and works with regulatory bodies to establish policy that may impact upon the operations of member colleges. This site contains information about activities, membership and events.

National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER)

Australia's principal research and evaluation organisation for the vocational education and training sector. It is an independent organisation responsible to a board of directors representing employers, unions, education and training organisations, government, and others with an interest in education and training. NCVER manages the national research and evaluation program on behalf of the federal government. This involves developing research priorities with key stakeholders and managing a competitive grants program for funding relevant research into vocational education and training (VET).

Trades Recognition Australia
