In a crisis for acute mental health service first contact should be with the Accident & Emergency Department of the local public hospital, where they can access the Extended Hours Crisis Team or in-patient mental health services.

 

If telephone crisis support is needed LIFELINE is recommended.

 

If members have private health insurance there are a range of private mental health clinics, and referral could be made through your local General Practitioner.
